How it was made.
Built on SwimCore, not from scratch, and changed everywhere it needed to be.

The engine
Relic runs on SwimCore by Swedeachu, the engine of swim.gg, on Swim Services' fork of PocketMine-MP (LGPL-3.0), in PHP 8.2. Relic's own systems sit on top: the bots, the modern modes, the queue games, replays, cosmetics, wagers, the lobby.
The front door
Bedrock 26.60 moved joins to NetherNet. A WaterdogPE front answers on relicmc.com:19132 for every supported version and hands players to the game server, patched to forward packets at once.
The bots
Each bot is a real player object on the server with one shared fighter brain. Which mechanic a bot may use in which mode is a table generated from the kits and the code, and a check fails the build when it goes stale.
The maps
Every map picture is drawn from the map's own blocks: the blocks are read out of the world, built into a model and turned once on a turntable. The same pictures are in the game's vote screens.
The lobby
The Capitolium lobby was built block by block. The 3D lobby on this site is made from those same blocks, with every statue where the server puts it.
This site
Static files any host can serve, with no trackers. Block, item and mob art is Minecraft's own (Mojang's); the pixel font is Idrees Hassan's Minecraft Font. Live numbers are pushed out by the server; nothing on the web can reach into it.
Three servers: a development PC where everything is built and tested, the staging server players reach today, and a production server to come. How the PvP plays · Credits
